Description
"Winter Salt Flats" [3:1]
Bonneville Salt Flats, Utah, USA

I visited the Bonneville Salt Flats during winter, to capture a different composition. But upon reaching the destination, I saw something I did not expect. Simple deductive thinking would have invoked the thought that when snow touches salt, it melts; however I had not thought that much about it, so even though it was not outright obvious to me, my arrival was greeted by a sea of glass. The view was incredible, inspiring, beautiful, awesome. And timing was perfect to catch a glimmer of sunset light over the water.
These salt flats have been made popular by both Hollywood films showing the starkness of the wilderness and professional race car drives attempting world land speed records. Definitely a worthwhile stop for anyone passing through the area.

Chad you have done it again! A fabulous image of the Salt Flats and salt-melted-snow. I particularly like the fact that your composition for this one is almost symmetrical. (Look for a video of Ab Jenkins breaking speed records there in 1929. Impressive film for it's time.)
